My Mother the Fashion Queen
Like all women I love fashion. I can get enough of it. It is also very important of showing your fashion style, who you are. since I was a little girl I followed all the brands like Chanel, Dior, Valentino, Gucci, Louis Vuitton. My room was filled with fashion pictures. Love to cut out pictures from Vogue, Elle or Cosmopolitan magazines. I loved every aspect of Fashion. With fashion came the shoes, bags and accessoires. My mother was always dressed to kill. Every outfit the perfect bag and shoes to match. She didn’t wear all those fancy brands. She created her own style. She was chique and classy. Her makeup was flawless. Yes she used to wear clothes that looked priceless. She knew how to use accessoires to make the outfit look fabulous. That is where I learned you don’t have to wear expensive clothes to follow the trend. You create your own style that represents your personality. I truly can say: “I got it from my mamma.”
If I have to describe my style I would say it’s a mix & match of different styles. I love the classy, or the casual chic and feminine look. Like my mother I use accessoires, they can make the outfit pop. Think of a belt or statement ring, earrings, a scarf or great stockings. What is style? Everybody has a style I believe. Some style are hard to copy, because it doesn’t fit you and you look ridiculous. When I was younger I experimented with lots of styles. I used to wear a lot of black. I still do but now I added more colors to my style. I have three younger sisters and we were always creating new styles. The white blouse wearing it with a tie and jeans. The blazers with the shoulder pads. The pearl necklaces like Madonna. Then there was the Hip Hop style, oh my god. Yeah we went through all those styles. I wouldn’t miss it for the world. But fashion from the past is getting back in trend again. Now a days you can mix everything, dots & stripes, flower print dresses with sneakers, bold colors.
When I was younger I dreamed of the Chanel bags, the Yves Saint Laurent shoes, the Gucci belts. It was so far away. Now there are Vintage stores where you can buy those bags for much cheaper but still expansive. Investing in a good bag or accessories ( Chanel, Louis Vuitton ) is a good thing because it will still be in fashion no matter what. When I start working and earning money, and no children, I bought my first Gucci bag. Oh, I remember it still today. I was with my mother and we went to the P.C. Hooftstraat in Amsterdam. That is a street where all the big brands are located. I still have that bag, and now my daughter is using it from time to time. I finally purchase a Chanel bag that I wanted at the age of 48. Yeah you are never too old to have a Chanel bag. The feeling when I get just looking at that bag, I can’t describe it but I think a lot of fashionistas will know what i’am talking about.

In my photos i’am wearing a flower dress from H&M. I thought it would go well with cherry Blossom trees in the background. The dress wasn’t expansive. My jacket I bought a few years ago its from Jane Norman. The accessoires speaks for them self. All from Gucci. The belt I wear almost with everything. The bag is such a good bag. I have a lot of stuff with me and it all fits in this bag. It is one of my favorite. The sunglasses are as well from Gucci. I love sunglasses. This one is very oversized but that’s why I love it so much. You have to know by now that Gucci is one of my favorite brands.
